									<p><strong>1. Introduction</strong></p><p>Facing is a fundamental operation that can be done in two basic ways: facing on a lathe and facing on the milling machine. Milling involves removing material to produce parts with specific features. Facing is the process of removing material from the end and/or shoulder of a work piece, using a special tool to produce a smooth surface perpendicular to the rotational axis of the work piece. When facing, the machinist uses a facing tool to cut a flat surface perpendicular to the work piece’s rotational axis. The facing tool is then fed perpendicularly across the axis. Facing will take the work piece down to its finished length very accurately: depending on how much material needs to be removed, a machinist can choose to take roughing or finishing cuts.</p><p>Spindle motors are used the rotation of tools and servo motors are used to carry the tool assembly. First it needs to home the carriage with home sensor with respect to Z- position. Operator mount the job in machine and press the start button then clamp engaged to hold the job then spindle motor start with set rpm then carriage start with rapid speed that is settable to a desired settable length after that machine starts slow feed rate to a settable length in HMI. After achieved the length the carriage is return with reverse speed to rapid stop position and clamp disengaged again operator put the job and engage the job and the process continue till stop button pressed.</p><p>The machine part description is as below photo:</p><p><img decoding="async" title="" src="https://www.invt.com/ueditor/php/upload/image/20220309/1646794784692812.png" alt="20220307-01-01.png" /></p><p><strong>2. System commissioning</strong><br />According to the control logic and display requirement, PLC and HMI program are made and uploaded to IVC3-3232MAT and VS-070HS. Advantages and benefits</strong></p><p>* High accuracy with high speed as servo motors are used for rapid and slow feeding.<br />* Low maintenance and Energy efficient as hydraulic power pack replace by servo motor<br />* Multiple type of dual facing is possible as inbuilt recipe feature is available in HMI<br />* Production is high, i.e. 20 jobs per minute.<br />* IVC3 PLC is having 200khz high speed output with 0.25ms scan time is efficiently control the two servo motor at same time to achieve the facing process.</p><p><strong>5. Conclusion</strong><br />Facing is commonly used in CNC Machine and boring, refers to the process of removing material from the end and/or shoulder of a workpiece, uses a facing tool to produce a flat, smooth surface perpendicular to the rotational axis of the workpiece. Nowadays this application can be possible in PLC, HMI, and Servo with multiple recipe function and INVT successfully replaced the CNC controller. Trouble shoot is easier and Parameters setting is very simple for operator as compare to CNC machine. INVT IVC3 PLC solution is Economical in machine tool sector.</p>								</div>

This article will introduce GD100-PV series <a href="https://www.invt.com/products/gd100-pv-series-solar-pump-inverter-28">solar water pump inverter</a>.

1.Introduction

Received the feedback information from the solar market and end-users, we get the following suggestion:

(1)Reduce the PV panel quantity

Because the general solar inverter need high DC input voltage.

(2)Support single phase pump.

For the civil water pump, many motors are single-phase, but the solar inverter in the market don’t support single phase, only support 3-phase.

(3)Support AC/PV channels input together.

In the night, there isn’t PV input energy, the pump will stop. Some project needs to keep the pump working always.

(4)Easy commissioning

The last generation product, need to modify some parameters to be suitable for different pump, new inverter can work automatically.

(5)Support remote control

People can use mobile APP or website to monitor the running status, and control the system start or stop.

In order to meet the requirement from end-users, and solve the disadvantages of solar inverter in the market, INVT developed a new product GD100-PV. It solves all the problems the users mentioned.

2.Advantages of GD100-PV series

(1)Be suitable for single phase and 3-phase water pump.

(2)Built-in MPPT controller and excellent MPPT algorithm for various photovoltaic panels.

(3)IP54 cabinet solution, meets various harsh outdoor environments, and can be installed in the outdoor directly.

(4)Support the boost modular less than 2.2kW, increase the PV output voltage.

(5)Support PV input and AC grid input together, realize the switching function automatically, without human intervention.

(6)Include water level control logic, avoid dry run status and added full water protection.

(7)Start smoothly for reducing the voltage spike to motor.

(8)Low start voltage and wide input voltage range give more possibilities for accepting multi PV strings configuration and different type of PV module.

(9)Digital intelligent control can flexible adjust and set pump’s speed range. In addition to soft start function also can provide lightning protection, overvoltage, over current, overload protection function.

(10)Support GPRS modular, people can operate the system by website platform or mobile phone apps.

3.Photovoltaic

Photovoltaic (PV) is the name of a method of converting solar energy into direct current electricity using semiconducting materials that exhibit the photovoltaic effect. A photovoltaic system employs solar panels composed of a number of solar cells to supply usable solar power. The process is both physical and chemical in nature, as the first step involves the photoelectric effect from which a second electrochemical process take place involving crystallized atoms being ionized in a series, generating an electric current.

4.Two Solutions of GD100-PV

There are two solutions for different power rating pump, for the pump less than 2.2kW, the solution is as the figure 2, for the bigger power rating pump, the solution is as the figure 3.

For little power rating pump ≤2.2kW, when we configure the solar panels, the PV power is enough, but the PV output voltage is not enough, so it needs to buy more solar panel to increase the PV voltage.

GD100-PV supply the boost modular, support low PV voltage input and high DC voltage output, can reduce the PV quantity.

The auto-switch modular can detect the PV output voltage, and send the signal to GD100-PV, inverter will control the contactor to turn on/off the AC input.

5.Conclusion

Because the GD100-PV integrates so many features, such as reduce the PV input voltage, switch power input channel between DC and AC, high IP class IP54, and so on, the end users don’t need to maintain the solar inverter any more after setting the parameters in the first time.

After sunset the light will be weak, GD100-PV can detect the PV voltage is less than the setting point, it will change the power input channel from PV to AC grid automatically. If only PV channel input, GD100-PV will hibernate in the weak sun light and wake up automatically in the morning.
